Bocce Court Surface - New Jersey
Throwing balls toward a target is the oldest game known to mankind. As early as 5000 B.C. the Egyptians played a form of bocce with polished rocks. While bocce today looks quite different from its early predecessors, the unbroken thread of bocce’s lineage is the consistently common objective of trying to come as close to a fixed target as possible.
Bocce uses a court, 8 balls of two colors and a small target ball called the pallino. The pallino is thrown onto the court by one of the teams. Each player then aims to throw his ball as close as possible to the target. Competitors comprise two players with two shots each or teams of threeto six people using fours shots each. A great family game that can be played by all ages. Enjoy a New Jersey bocce court surface today!
